Ambassador Gui Congyou visited Hammarby Sjöstad

On 26 Feb 2018, Ambassador Gui Congyou visited Hammarby Sjöstad at the invitation of Chairman of the Board of Hammarby Sjöstad Allan Larsson. The Commercial Counsellor of Chinese Embassy Han Xiaodong, Professor of KTH Royal Institute of Technology Ramon Wyss, Assistant to the Principal of KTH He Yingfang, Doctor Feng Quanhong from Nordic Association for Innovation and Technology Transformation also participated.

Ambassador Gui said China is vigourously implementing the vision of innovative, coordinated, green, and open development that is for everyone, and significant progress has been made in economic and social sustainable development. The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China highlighted that implementing sustainable development strategy, building a Beautiful China and ensuring harmony between human and nature are the goals of China’s future development. Take Hammarby Sjöstad as a model, Sweden is leading the world in urban sustainable development with advanced concept, successful experience and mature mode. The Chinese side is willing to further strenghthen the cooperation on sustainable development between the two countries on the basis of the existing cooperation, so as to contribute to building a Beautiful China.

Mr. Larsson said Hammarby Sjöstad has attracted worldwide attention as a Swedish model for urban sustainable development. By applying more environmental protection and sustainable development concept and technology, the board is building Hammarby Sjöstad 2.0, upgraded from “sustainable development” to “smart sustainable development”, which will lead the global trend of urban development. As China proceeds with fast urbanization, Hammarby Sjöstad is willing to develop 2.0 version of cooperation with China on the basis of Hammarby Sjöstad 1.0 cooperation.
