Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Liu Jianchao's Remarks on the Terrorist Blast in Chechnya

On May 9, a serious terrorist bombing in Grozny, capital of the Republic of Chechnya of Russia, claimed lives of the Chechen President Kadyrov and other leaders. The blast also led to massive injuries and deaths of civilians. China expresses its strong condemnation over the terrorist blast. President Hu Jintao sent a telegram of sympathy to President Putin, expressing condolences to the victims and sympathy to their relatives and those injured.

The Chinese Government opposes terrorism in all its forms. China resolutely supports the efforts of the Russian Government in combating terrorism and safeguarding its national stability. China stands ready to work with the international community including Russia to make unremitting efforts to fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism.
