On September 23, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin attended and delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the “Yongle Palace Mural Art Special Exhibition” organized by the China Cultural Center in Stockholm. Ms. Li Rui, Counselor for Cultural Affairs of the Embassy, accompanied Ambassador Zhou at the event. More than 100 people from Swedish cultural and academic circles, as well as people interested in Chinese culture attended the event.

Centered on “Chaoyuan Tu,” a Yuan-dynasty mural at Yongle Palace, the exhibition presents the artwork through color exploration, AI-assisted restoration, and mural reproductions. It showcases China’s achievements in the restoration, research, and digitization of cultural relics and highlights the contemporary vitality of integrating culture and technology.

Ambassador Zhou noted that Sweden is among the earliest countries to systematically collect and study Chinese cultural relics. Generations of Swedish sinologists and archaeologists have devoted themselves to this work, enabling the Swedish public to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese civilization and appreciate its profound richness and global significance. He expressed the hope that the exhibition would further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in conservation, digitization, and exhibitions of cultural relics.
