On September 4, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin met with Mr. Göran Lithell, HM The Swedish King’s First Marshal of the Court. The two sides exchanged views on China-Sweden friendly relations and other topics. They agreed that with a long history of exchanges and a solid foundation for cooperation, the two countries should continue to expand practical cooperation in various fields, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote the steady and sound development of China-Sweden friendly cooperation.

Ambassador Zhou presented a copy of the book Eastward Travelogue: Masters, Warlords, the Swedish Crown Prince and China in the 1920s to the King and the Crown Princess of Sweden. The book takes as its central thread the 1926 cultural expedition to China by then Swedish Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf, using his perspective to weave together an account of China’s political and cultural landscape, archaeological developments, social life, and cultural exchanges between China and Sweden at the time.
