On 16 August 2026, Counselor Wan Degang of the Chinese Embassy in Sweden attended the 2026 edition of the African Fusion Fest.

Counselor Wan delivered a keynote speech on China‑Africa economic and trade relations. He highlighted the broad new opportunities for deepening China‑Africa cooperation presented by China’s 15th Five‑Year Plan. Noting that 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the start of diplomatic relations between China and African countries, he stated that China is continuing to strengthen top‑level design and strategic planning for its economic and trade cooperation with Africa. China stands ready to work with African countries to further expand trade and investment, deepen cooperation in infrastructure, digital economy, green development and other fields, so as to deliver more benefits of cooperation to the people of China and Africa.

During the event, guests reviewed the achievements of China‑Africa cooperation over the past 70 years and shared their visions for future cooperation. They also enjoyed traditional African artistic performances and visited exhibition areas of various African countries, amid a joyful and cordial atmosphere.
