On June 3, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin met with Mr. Peter Ling-Vannerus, Senior Advisor of SEB, Mr. John Thuresson, Co-Head of Corporate & Investment Banking, and other senior executives. They exchanged views on deepening practical cooperation between China and Sweden in the areas of trade, economy and finance. Ms. Kang Wen, Counselor in charge of economic and commercial affairs at the Embassy, attended the meeting.

Ambassador Zhou commended SEB for its longstanding contribution to promoting China-Sweden economic and trade cooperation. He noted that the opening-up measures in the financial sector under China’s 15th Five-Year Plan would create broader space and greater opportunities for the development of foreign banks in China. He expressed the hope that SEB would maintain strong confidence in its development in China, further leverage its role as a bridge in the financial sector, and contribute to elevating China-Sweden economic, trade, and financial cooperation to a new level.

The representatives of SEB introduced the bank’s history and its cooperation with China. They stated that SEB would remain committed to its long-term strategy, continue to deepen its presence in the Chinese market, further tap into the potential for cooperation, and play a greater role in promoting bilateral economic, trade and financial cooperation.
