On April 28, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin visited Vasa Museum in Sweden. He had in-depth exchanges with Mr. Lars Amréus, Director General of the National Maritime, Transport and Military Museums of Sweden, focusing on cultural and tourism exchanges and cooperation between China and Sweden, with a particular emphasis on the museum sector. Ms. Li Rui, Counsellor for cultural affairs of the Embassy, attended the event.

Ambassador Zhou spoke highly of the achievements of Swedish museums in underwater cultural relics protection, digital development, and international cooperation. He noted that China and Sweden share a long history of collaboration in archaeological and cultural heritage conservation, as well as consensus on heritage protection and museum digitalization. China's 15th Five-Year Plan emphasizes deepening international exchanges and cooperation in cultural heritage protection. He expressed the hope that museums from both countries could strengthen exchanges and cooperation in exhibitions and cultural products development, thereby promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges between China and Sweden.

Director General Amréus responded positively and expressed anticipation for deeper exchanges and cooperation with Chinese cultural and museum institutions in the future.
