Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Zhou Limin Visits the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

On April 24, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin visited the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (KVA) and exchanged views with President Sven Lidin and others on promoting scientific cooperation between China and Sweden. Mr. Cui Yuting, Counselor for Science and Technology Affairs at the Chinese Embassy, attended the meeting.

Ambassador Zhou commended KVA for its efforts to deepen scientific cooperation between China and Sweden. He noted that China’s 15th Five-Year Plan places greater emphasis on technological innovation and high-standard opening up, and encourages scientists worldwide to conduct collaborative research using China’s major scientific infrastructure, which creates broad prospects for China-Sweden scientific cooperation. He expressed hope that KVA would continue to strengthen research collaboration and personnel exchanges with Chinese partners, and jointly promote the development of scientific research.

President Lidin positively acknowledged China’s remarkable progress in fields such as basic science and green technology, as well as the vast potential for bilateral cooperation in scientific and technological innovation. He expressed willingness to enhance exchanges and cooperation with China so that scientific discoveries can benefit social development more broadly.
