On April 21, 2026, Ambassador Zhou Limin visited AstraZeneca Sweden, and exchanged views with Mr. Per Alfredsson, President of AstraZeneca Sweden, on deepening China-Sweden cooperation in the biomedical field.

Ambassador Zhou commended AstraZeneca for its commitment to innovative R&D, green development, and its continuous expansion of pharmaceutical production and R&D footprint in China. He noted that China is transitioning from a “follower” to a “leader” in the innovative pharmaceutical industry, driven by robust growth momentum. He expressed the hope that AstraZeneca would seize the vast opportunities brought by China's 15th Five-Year Plan, actively integrate into China's industrial and innovation chains, and jointly make greater contributions to the cause of human health.

President Alfredsson introduced the company's business development and its cooperation with China, and spoke highly of the speed and quality of innovation in China's pharmaceutical industry. He also expressed the hope to learn from Chinese counterparts, engage in healthy competition, and achieve mutual growth.

Ambassador Zhou and his delegation also visited AstraZeneca's Sweden Biomanufacturing Center (SBC).
