On August 29, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin met with Governor of Halland County Anders Thornberg and Deputy Governor Claes Lindgren, and exchanged views on China-Sweden local cooperation.

Ambassador Cui briefed on China’s efforts to promote high-quality development and expand high-standard opening up. He stressed that China is implementing an innovation-driven development strategy and is firmly committed to the path of green and low-carbon development, which aligns with Sweden’s development philosophy and offers broad prospects for cooperation. Halland County enjoys distinctive geographical advantages and development characteristics, and has great potential for cooperation with China in green and low-carbon fields. He expressed the hope that Halland County will strengthen people-to-people exchanges and mutual learning with relevant regions in China, and contribute to the further development of China-Sweden relations.
Governor Thornberg extended his warm welcome to Ambassador Cui’s visit, introduced the history, culture, and current economic and social development of Halland County, and expressed his willingness to maintain dialogue and communication and deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side.
