On August 27, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin met with Ms. Johanna Lybeck Lilja, State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of Sweden, exchanging views on enhancing China-Sweden and China-EU economic and trade cooperation.

Ambassador Cui introduced China’s efforts to advance high-quality economic development through higher standard opening up and shared views on the current international economic and trade landscape. He highlighted the importance of equal-footed dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation in resolving differences in economic and trade areas. Ambassador Cui expressed the hope that the two sides would fully leverage their industrial complementarity, explore the vast potential for cooperation, and add more stability to China-Sweden and China-EU economic and trade relations through practical cooperation.

State Secretary Lilja emphasized that Sweden has always been a firm supporter of free trade and remains committed to fostering a free and open business environment. She expressed Sweden’s willingness to maintain dialogue with China and strengthen cooperation across various fields.
