On August 1, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin attended the 2024 Farewell Event for Swedish Students to Study in China held by the Chinese Embassy. Nearly 50 people were present at the event, including Swedish recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship, exchange students from various institutions preparing to study in China, and graduate representatives who have studied in China.

Ambassador Cui provided an overview of China, particularly Chinese modernization, the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind and the three global initiatives. He stated that stronger cooperation and closer exchanges in the education field will help promote all-round economic and social development and people-to-people friendship. The exchange programs between China and Sweden play a positive role in developing their bilateral relations and practical cooperation. He expressed the hope that the students who are going to China to pursue their studies can experience the real, developing and progressing China, and do more things that are conducive to the friendship and cooperation between the two sides. He gave his best wishes for their success in their academic pursuits.

At the event, Swedish students who graduated from Chinese institutions, as well as those who are currently studying there, shared their studying experiences in China. The Chinese Government Scholarship recipients expressed their anticipation for studying in China, their aspiration to start a new life, and their readiness to contribute further to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
