On May 9, 2025, Ambassador Cui Aimin attended via video link an event held by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China in celebration of the 75th anniversary of China-Sweden diplomatic relations and delivered a speech. Swedish Ambassador to China Per Augustsson, SwedCham China’s Chairman Peter Ling-Vannerus, and more than 200 representatives from Swedish enterprises and institutions attended the event.
Ambassador Cui stated that China’s economy maintains a positive momentum of growth—green transition is picking up the pace, innovation vitality is fully unleashed, high-standard opening up is steadily advancing, and the international community remains optimistic about the Chinese market. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Sweden. Ambassador Cui expressed the hope that Swedish enterprises would enhance their confidence in cooperation, give full play to their strengths, deepen complementary cooperation in areas such as smart manufacturing, life sciences, digital economy, low-carbon development and environmental protection, expand avenues of mutual benefit, and jointly create a promising future for development.
Ambassador Augustsson highlighted that Sweden has long been committed to openness and innovation, and has been actively building partnership with China. Chairman Ling-Vannerus and executives from Traton and Volvo Cars expressed their willingness to continue to cultivate the Chinese market and develop side by side with China’s economy.
