On January 24, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin attended the Chinese New Year Symposium for Chinese and Swedish experts held by the Chinese Embassy in Sweden. Nearly 20 representatives from Swedish academia, industry, and research institutions in life sciences participated in the event.

Ambassador Cui extended Spring Festival greetings to the Chinese and Swedish experts and scholars, emphasizing that life sciences and healthcare are crucial pillars for the sustainable development of human society. He highlighted China’s commitment to promoting high-quality economic development with higher-standard opening up, and to advancing scientific and technological innovation. He stated that the Chinese government places great importance on life sciences research and public health development and is ready to enhance cooperation with other countries in areas such as basic research and scientific infrastructure. Ambassador Cui expressed the hope that the participating experts would serve as bridges to further deepen innovation cooperation between the two countries in the field of life sciences and healthcare for the benefit of both countries and the global community.

Participants engaged in lively discussions and expressed their readiness to strengthen research collaboration and personnel exchanges in areas such as molecular biology, with the aim of achieving more practical outcomes.
