On December 11, 2024, Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin attended the China-Sweden Forum on Research and Innovation 2024 held by the Chinese Embassy in Sweden. The delegation led by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and nearly 100 representatives in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship from various sectors of Sweden, including government, industry, academia, and research, attended the forum.

In his remarks, Ambassador Cui provided an overview of China’s efforts to deepen reform and opening up across the board to promote high-quality development, and shared information about the green transition of industries and the reform of the scientific and technological management system in China. He stated that China and Sweden are highly complementary in innovative industries and scientific research cooperation. Going forward, the two sides have broad prospects for cooperation in green development, health and other fields. He expressed the hope that the two sides would deepen cooperation, deliver benefits to the two peoples, and promote the sustainable development of human society.

The forum was divided into multiple sessions, including thematic discussions such as “China’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation System”, case sharing, and an on-site signing ceremony. The participants delivered keynote speeches and engaged in lively exchanges, expressing their hope to further strengthen R&D cooperation, industrial matchmaking and personnel exchanges, and achieve more practical outcomes to benefit the people of both countries.
