Some Swedish media’s reporting on the so-called “secret Chinese network” and united front work is driven by the Cold War mentality and ideological bias, and is groundless accusation and denigration against China. We strongly deplore and firmly oppose this.
China upholds an independent foreign policy of peace. It establishes and develops friendly and cooperative relations with all countries, including Sweden. China has never interfered in the internal affairs of other countries, never exported ideology or social systems, and never posed the so-called “security threat” to any other country. The Chinese government has consistently required overseas Chinese nationals to abide by the laws and regulations of their host countries and to respect local customs. The Chinese government’s external work is above board and beyond reproach.
Some people with ulterior motives repeatedly peddle the so-called “China threat” narrative. Their aim is to contain China’s development and sabotage the friendship between China and Sweden. This will seriously undermine China-Sweden relations and the well-being of the two peoples. We urge them to stop engaging in anti-China political maneuvering, stop smearing and slandering China, and do more things that are conducive to the friendship between China and Sweden as well as the well-being of the two peoples. We hope the fair-minded people, who are in the majority, could avoid being misled by those wrongful remarks, view China and its development in an objective and impartial manner, continue to promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, and contribute to the improvement and development of China-Sweden relations.
