On September 22, 2024, Ambassador Cui Aimin and Mrs. Li Lihong held a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Mr. Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Sweden, along with friends from all walks of life in Sweden, foreign diplomatic envoys to Sweden, and representatives of overseas Chinese, students and companies in Sweden, totaling over 1,100 people, attended the event.

Ambassador Cui reviewed in his remarks the glorious achievements that have been scored since the founding of New China 75 years ago, and in particular since the inception of the new era. He pointed out that as China further deepens reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization, more new opportunities will be provided for China and other countries to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and pursue common development. The Chinese side is ready to work with the Swedish side to explore the potential for cooperation, share development dividends, and break new ground in mutually beneficial cooperation.

Mr. Dousa extended his warm congratulations on China’s National Day and expressed the willingness of the Swedish side to work with the Chinese side to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and move the bilateral relations forward.

At the reception, the guests enjoyed a magnificent performance by the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. The hall was filled with thunderous applause, with one highlight after another, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
