Recently, a few overseas chinese and chinese students living in Sweden have reported to the Chinese Embassy in Sweden that some outlaws have forged the office telephone numbers of the Chinese Embassy to make phone calls to the recipient, claiming to be the Embassy staff, citing issues such as document verification requirement by Chinese police, involvement in cases in China, or problems with the visas and passports, and demanding the recipient to go to the Embassy at a designated time to handle related affairs. The Embassy hereby once again reminds overseas chinese and chinese students living in Sweden to be vigilant and avoid to be deceived. The precautions are restated as follows:

1. If a overseas chinese or chinese student living in Sweden is involved in cases in China, the Embassy will not inform the person by phone to come to the Embassy to verify information and cooperate with the investigation.

2. The Embassy's consular consultation hotline for travelling document processing is 0046-724448073. If a call is received from this number regarding travelling document processing or related matters, the recipient must have previously presented a request to the Embassy for travelling document processing, and the Embassy will directly inform the recipient of the specific requirements for material submission.

3. The Embassy's consular protection and assistance hotline is 0046-763383654, which is used to answer emergency calls from Chinese citizens for assistance. Only when requested by the person in need will the Embassy staff make follow-up calls, and no external calls will be initiated by this number.

4. Other telephone numbers except for the above-mentioned hotlines are the Embassy's office numbers and will not call individuals regarding personal matters.

5. In case of any situation that does not match the above, please immediately report to or verify with the Chinese Embassy in Sweden (Consular Protection and Assistance Hotline: 0046-763383654, Consular Consultation Hotline: 0046-724448073), or report to the Swedish police (call 11414 for non emergency incidents, call 0046-771141400 if calling from a Chinese mobile; call 112 for emergencies, call same number if calling from a Chinese mobile cellphone number).
