Visa for Hong Kong SAR of China

1. Swedish passport holders may visit the HKSAR without visa for up to 90 days. But in any of the following cases, they need to apply for a visa through an embassy or consulate of the People's Republic of China or the Immigration Department of the Government of the HKSAR before the trip.

1) Swedish passport holders intend to stay in the HKSAR for more than 90 days.

2) Swedish passport holders go to the HKSAR for employment, permanent residency, art performance or exhibition.

3) Swedish passport holders go to the HKSAR for studies, professional training or industrial or commercial training.

2. Nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong without a visa/entry permit for a period ranging from 7 days to 180 days. For more information on visa/entry permit requirements for visitors to the  HKSAR, you may refer to the "Visit Visa / Entry Permit Requirements for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region". 3 . Documents Required

1) Visa Application Form – Please fill out the the HKSAR Visa Application Form truthfully and completely according to your purpose of visit to the HKSAR

2) Photo – Please affix one color photo on the application form. The photo should be recent, front view, in 48mm x33mm size without head covering.

4. Processing Time

If an application is required to be referred to the Immigration Department of the Government of the HKSAR for processing, it normally takes at least 40 days.

For all the visas that can be issued by the Chinese Embassy, visas can be obtained on the 4th working day.

5. Visa Fees

1) Postal fees of about 150kr (Postage prices is based on weight of the your application documents) need to be paid first by cash.

2)Visa fees of 260 kr need to be paid when you pick up your visa.

Visa for Macao SAR of China 

1. All visitors are required to have a visa except nationals of countries which are exempted from a visa or entry permit. For more information on "Visa" and "Entry Permit" Exemption, please visit the website of the Macao Immigration Services of Public Security Police Force http://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/eng/psp_top5_2_1.html. At present, citizens of 77 countries, including Sweden, enjoy visa-free entry into Macao Special Administrative Region for tourism purpose.

2. Visitors who are not exempted from a "visa" and "entry permit" can apply for a "visa-upon-arrival" and "Authorization to Enter and Stay", or apply for a "visa" of the Macao Special Administrative Region in advance through an embassy or consulate of the People's Republic of China.

3. Starting from 1 July 2010, visitors from the following 6 countries are required to apply for a valid Macao "visa" in advance through a Chinese embassy or consulate instead of applying for an Entry Permit (so-called "visa-upon-arrival"). Nonetheless, the consular officials of these countries stationed on Chinese territory, the officials of various international organizations and their family can continue to apply for "visa-upon-arrival" with their passport, diplomatic/consular identity card or staff card.
